A Brotha’s Interactive Business Cards

I have written numerous posts about throwing away your business cards in favor of more modern ways to trade contact information:

Twitter Business, I mean, Biz Card

Hashable App for iPhone and Android: Throw Away your Business Cards?

QR Code + LinkedIn + PingTags = New Online Business Card

GetContact.Info: Add Analytics To Business Cards with QR Code

But every time I attend an event and tried to slang all the cool ways to “get the digits”, people still ask “Do you have a card?”

“If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”

If I MUST do up some business cards, I may as well add some tech to them (I am BrothaTech right?). So now it’s official – My business cards have some flare (no T.G.I.F.) and interactivity due to the QR Codes I slapped on them What do you think?

Shout out to my main man Lamont Wayne (@chaostoon) for the bangin’ designs (He does all my stuff) and to Moo Cards (@Overheardatmoo) for the awesome print quality – Follow. Them. Now.

Honorable Mention: GetContact.Info – I REALLY wanted to add my contact QR Code using their service. The ONLY thing that prevented me was the fact that folks with an iPhone can’t choose to download/import my contact information to their contact list from the mobile browser. They would have to email themselves my vCard first, then import my contact info.

Since the folks over at GetContact.Info can’t make Jobszilla add vCard compatibility to his coveted iPhone; reluctantly, I had to use another QR Code Generator that skips the mobile browser part and decodes my contact info directly from the code. To the left is my GetContact.Info code – Scan it and tell me how fly it would’ve been to have this on my business card?

So there you have it, my little business card story. Since I am a QR Code advocate (and Technology Consultant), hopefully whipping these babies out will spark even more techie conversation, and I may just teach them a thing or two in the process…

Scratch that, I may just teach them ONE thing (the first hit is always free…)

P.S., I guess you would actually want to see a better shot of my cards…and possibly scan the codes?

  1. Your cards look super cool! I haven’t invested in cards with the QR codes yet, I’m not sure how many people really scan them. But once I do make the leap, I’ll be sure to look up Lamont and Moo Cards :)

    • You can also check out GetContact.Info. You can add analytics to your business cards scans to be notified when and where people scan them…for free. Scan my GetContact.Info code in the post to view my info. to see if you like it…
