Multiple angles for all you bed-time grinders

I’m really starting to get into the whole bluetooth keyboard thing for my iPad because i’ve discovered you can actually get some serious work done in addition to being awesome for when I attend conferences and don’t want to carry around my MacBook all day.

So the folks at Kensington sent me their new Multi Angle Folio & Keyboard that’s compatible for my New iPad, as well as backwards compatible for iPad 2 and original iPad.

Tell ‘Em Why You Mad Son – Mobile-Friendly Websites

Ugly mobile sites

I embrace my ugliness - image courtesy of rise.net

As cool, calm & collected; non-chalant and reserved as I am, sometimes I just gotta get some things off my chest. So as the result of some Twitter convos about skits on rap albums, and a long shower, I got the idea to do a weekly video about some things that bug me about technology…or the lack thereof.

I consider these videos a mashup of a geek talking about technology, Ed Lover’s “C’mon Son” Videos, and the “Madd Rapper” skits that were a hit during the Bad Boy reign in the rap game. Check out the first one, “Mobile-Friendly Sites” – unscripted, with no frills and let me know what you think and if I should keep the ball rolling.

Private Rooms and More with Kandi Koated Spades App

Kandi Koated Spades Private Room

Im your private...spades player

Some of us claim to be Gods when it comes to playing Spades. The Kandi Koated Spades app for iOS lets you virtually put your skills to the test with other players online. I got a chance to chat with Kandi Burruss about the app and some of the tweaks she requested to the game including the ability to reneg.

I also reviewed the app and one of my suggestions was the ability to invite people to play in private rooms. It’s all Kool and the Gang to play with random people online, but imagine you’re at an event or visiting friends/family and that Spades itch hits, but no one has a deck of cards?

PSA: If you don’t at least one deck of cards in your house – You’re NOT a true card player #TheMoreYouKnow

I think you should be able to play with select people who also have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. The folks over at Konsole Kingz (the app developers) were receptive to mine and other user’s requests and released an update that adds private rooms

Google Drive Logo

All your files are belong to us?

Probably to the chagrin of Dropbox, Microsoft SkyDrive, and a host of other cloud storage services, Google Drive was announced yesterday. Folks who use a ton of Google’s services (present company included) can essentially consolidate all other operations in one place.

Before you go all willy-nilly setting up your account, be sure you know what happens to your files after they are uploaded to SkyNet Google.

Do More with your PDF Files with Nuance PDF Converter for Mac

I converted my resume from .pdf to .doc using Nuance PDF Converter for Mac

In between gigs

I recently decided to spruce up my resume. The version I did was pretty whack, so I decided to enlist the help of a professional to give it that extra “oomph”. The professional I hired did a bang-up job, but since the work was done, some of the information on my resume changed (read: I no longer work there). Unfortunately, the only version of the resume I had was in .pdf format. Thank goodness for the Nuance PDF Converter for Mac that quickly converted my file to a .doc format so I could make the changes.

PDF’s are a very popular document format. Chances are, you have a ton of pdf’s on your computer right now. Hopefully you have a more flexible copy of those files just in case you need to create an updated version. In not, sucks to be you check out my Nuance the PDF Converter for Mac review over on AppScout
