BrothaTech is a BackBlaze partner

Computer Backup Services by BrothaTech and BackBlaze

I’ve been providing tech support and advice to friends, family, and clients ever since I can remember. Long before I was “BrothaTech” and long before I started professionally providing IT support, I frequently reminded people that technology can fail, so it’s best to have all your data backed up somewhere.

Pretty regularly, you can catch me reminding folks via Social Media that they need to sign up for some kind of computer backup service NOW before you call me all in a panic because “all my stuff on my computer is gone”. But it never fails – People frequently call me all the time needing help recovering data from a corrupted or damaged Hard Drive. You can probably guess what my FIRST question to them is right?

…And you can probably guess what their answer is right? So after numerous attempts (and some failures) restoring data from Hard Drives, I’ve decided to officially add “Data Backup” to my list of IT support services. Now I’ve been helping people backup their data for the longest, but my process didn’t include a go-to computer backup service recommendation for my clients to use. For the longest, I thought about building my own backup service, but it dawned on me “Why not help people get setup on the service I already use?”

The go-to backup service for my family of computers is BackBlaze. To personally cape up vouch for the service, I’ve been using it since 2011 and have never had a problem backing up and restoring my files. The feature I like the most is that BackBlaze is simple to setup and runs in the background so my physical/manual interaction with backing up my stuff is minimal . Additional key features include:

  • Fast backup speeds
  • SSL encryption and two-factor authentication
  • Regular notifications of your backup status
  • Backup up external Hard Drives connected to your computer
  • Access to your files anytime on any device with BackBlaze apps
  • Multiple options to restore your data

All that to say, I’m proud to announce that I’m a BackBlaze Partner and can now offer my clients (and my readers) the same simple and reliable online backup service I currently include in my own backup strategy.

Now I know what you’re thinking: “BrothaTech, I already back up my computer to an external Hard Drive.” Well, me too – I also use Apple’s built-in Time Machine service to backup my devices on an external Hard Drive in my house, but redundancy is the key to a proper backup strategy, Not to sound dramatic, but if my house burns down, my computers AND my Hard Drive I use to back up my computers is gone. So you need duplicate backups in multiple locations…Trust me on this.

I almost forgot one of the most important features, you get unlimited backup space for starting at $5/month. That means no need to keep an eye on your storage levels and pressure from me or BackBlaze to upgrade your storage space.

I know there are some folks out there who have been stalling on backing up their computers because they think it’s too costly, or too complication or think they’re invincible. Trust me, I’ve had to tell too many people “I can’t retrieve your data” so I know otherwise.

Whether you visit the BlackBlaze site to get more information and “do it yourself”, OR

visit my contact page and all I’ll ask is that you take computer backup serious and do something, before it’s too late.

You’ve been warned.

Great post! I have been meaning to back up my computer for the last year or so.
    Thanks for the info!
Would love the opportunity to pick your brain about a few tech issues as well.

I am also thinking to backup my laptop data but your service is a bit on expensive side. Any discount available for new customers?

If you consider my plan includes an unlimited amount of backup space for one computer and a connected hard drive, and I’m throwing in a free 60-min tech consultation, that’s a pretty good deal. Hit me up on my contact page if you want the full feature breakdown.
