Gmail Gets Tweaked

I opened up my Gmail inbox this morning and to my surprise, there have been some tweaks to the interface. Namely, the navigation bar to the upper left corner. The first options are “Mail”, “Contacts” and “Tasks”, instead of your inbox link and other mail options. Before the change, I had to move past ALL my folders (I have ALLOT) just to get to the options.

Additionally, the “Compose Mail” option sticks out like a sore thumb, making it a little more noticeable.

Finally, the entire Gmail contacts feature has been revamped the most to make it easier to create and organize new fields, titles, and create notes per contact.

Overall, the new updates are not overpowering, but are very noticeable and pretty handy. The ability to see and interact with the contacts and tasks links show convince folks to actually use them a little more.
