How to Shoot The Best iPhone Video Using Your Apple Watch

Since video is the name of the game on social media platforms, it would behoove anyone who is looking to get traction online to make video apart of their strategy.

A large number of folks nowadays are using their iPhones to shoot high-quality video. Now the best camera to shoot iPhone video is the rear-facing camera, but if you’re like me and don’t have a whole ‘nother person to assist behind the camera, or don’t want to shoot the perfect take, just to find that half of your head is missing camera, you’re relegated to using the lower-quality front-facing “selfie” camera to make sure you’re in frame and in focus.

UNLESS you have an Apple Watch. It pays to be deep into the Apple ecosystem, because you can use your Apple Watch as a monitor and controller for your iPhone’s camera to make sure you shoot the best quality iPhone video possible:

  1. Set up your iPhone on a tripod
  2. Open the Camera app on your iPhone and set it to video mode.
  3. Open the Camera app on your Apple Watch

…You can now see what your iPhone’s shooting on your Apple Watch. You can even use it to start and stop video recording.

Don’t get me wrong, the front-facing camera on your iPhone is good, but to take advantage of all the extra iPhone video features (higher resolution, better stability, better lighting), the rear-facing camera is the way to go.

With your Apple Watch as your iPhone camera’s monitor and controller, you can set up and shoot better quality iPhone video without all the extra effort or help.
