“Why do I need a tablet device?” is a question I often as a techie. “It’s just a big ole’ iPod” is usually the follow-up statement to their original question.
As a techie (and a Certified Tablet Advocate…I just made that up) who bought both the iPad and the iPad 2, perhaps the better way to ask me that question is “What benefit do you get from using a Tablet?”
My FORMAL answer to both questions is tablets are all about mobile productivity…and my informal response to the follow-up “big ole’ iPod” statement is “Don’t be a Hater“.

The advancements in web and mobile apps/services, cloud computing/storage, and networking/communication/collaboration practices are all starting to make it very easy to handle a great deal of tasks with just an internet connection and a tablet device. So going through the process of hoping on a traditional computer in many cases is just not completely necessary in this new age of computing…
