The Hookup – Google Nexus 5X
Even though I rock an iPhone as my daily driver, I always keep my ears to the ground to what is going on outside of the “Apple reality distortion bubble”. Add in a slight case of impulsiveness (and ZERO trace of buyer’s remorse), I had to scoop up and share this deal on a late-model Google Nexus 5X.
Google Nexus 5X Specs
Even though the Nexus 5X is an older model (the Nexus 6P is the current Nexus flagship), the specs are still top-notch for a year-old phone.
- 5.2″ Gorilla Glass 3 Display
- 2700 mAH Battery
- 12.3 MP Rear Camera
- 5 MP Front Camera
- 1.8 GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor
- USB Type-C Charging
- Fingerprint Sensor
- Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)
Of course, since it’s Google phone, you get 1st dibs on the most current Android operating system and a pure Android experience straight from the originator, without waiting for a 3rd-Party manufacturer or wireless carrier adding their own $0.02 cents.
Speaking of wireless carriers, I’m not a fan of these new-fangled “leased”, “new phone every year” plans that wireless carriers are slanging nowadays. Check out my homegirl Allison Sheridan’s detailed breakdown on smartphone installment plans to get a better idea of what you’re REALLY getting.
All that to say, you can own (not lease) the Google Nexus 5X unlocked, meaning you can use it on practically any wireless carrier, starting at $349 for the 16GB version, $379 for the 32GB version on Amazon.
