…That is if you are a punter and will be visting the brand spankin’-new, 1 BILLION dollar Cowboys stadium this season. Hoisted 90 feet above the field sits the world’s largest HDTV.
Which for me most is the most awesome thing in Texas…with the exception of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. But for punters, it will most likey pose a problem as the screen is not high enough to avoid the football from hitting it during a punt.
“It is an issue,” said Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher, who happens to be the co-chair of the NFL’s competition committee, a group that could force the Cowboys to take action if they don’t do it on their own. “Something has to get worked out.”
The Cowboys have two options as it stands. The already have plans to raise the screen for a scheduled Oct. 12 U2 concert (and leave it at that height), or they can install a system that would let them raise and lower the screen at will. But the latter of the two will further raise the price tag of the stadium that has already surpassed it’s original budget by double.
The Cowboys first home opener is September 20th against the Giants, hopefully the glory that is the world’s largest HDTV won’t pose a problem for something as minor as the NFL football season (I am a technogeek, remember?)
This TV is so huge, I just had to post another pic
looks like they are playing Madden on the screen in the above pic
*drools a little*
