As apart of the deal of Comcast buying NBC earlier this year, Comcast has created the Internet Essentials program that offers low-income households the ability to receive inexpensive internet access with no price increases, no activation fees, and no equipment rental fees. The program will start just in time for the upcoming 2011-12 school year and is ONLY available for households with school-age children…

Let’s face it, more recent generations view the NAACP as their parent’s organization. The organization took a step in the right direction by appointing Ben Jealous (its youngest CEO ever) several years ago. Realizing that a large portion of 20 and early 30 somethings are heavy into social media and mobile content consumption, the organization has hit the ground running by creating a mobile app specifically for this year’s NAACP Annual Convention and unveiling its brand new social networking site that’s geared towards students and young activists…

This is my first time in LA and was my first time at the Blogging While Brown Conference/Black Weblog Awards (recap coming soon). As I am sitting here in this uber-crowded LAX airport, I must say I am somewhat impressed with its tech/mobile friendlieness.
