World Backup Day – Take A Minute To Backup Your Stuff

If you’re not familiar with me, I’m an IT support professional who has dealt with many clients who come to me with a busted computer hoping I can restore their precious, treasured, photos, videos and documents and other files. In some cases, I was able to recover their files.

In many cases, I had to give them the bad news that there was nothing I could do and they were going to have to either spend big bucks to get their data restored by a specialized business…and even they won’t give you any guarantees, or START OVER and collect everything from scratch. ALL that to say, I’m a heavy supporter of making sure all your devices and data is backed up.

For all of you who think you won’t ever lose any data, here’s some quick backup facts:

  • Every week, 140,000 hard drives crash in the United States
  • 32% of computer users lost ALL of their files due to events beyond their control
  • 60% of companies that lose their data will shut down within six months of the disaster
  • Simple drive recovery can cost up to $7500 and success is NOT guaranteed

So I’m going to ask you straight up – Have you backed up recently? If not, today is the PERFECT day as March 31st is World Backup Day.

Yes, I also know that World Backup Day falls on Easter Weekend, so if you celebrate and you’ve got a family to get ready, you’re probably pre-occupied with other things. But I’ll be honest, Backing up your devices isn’t even that hard, and there are tons of resources that can help you get you data backed up safely.

For example, the official World Backup Day website has good information on how to backup your devices, no matter what device you own. The site even offers a pledge you can take as a reminder to you and yours that you will celebrate World Backup Day by taking a couple minutes out of your day to start the backup process.

I’m a IT Support Professional, so of course I’ve created my own guide that breaks down creating a Fool-Proof Backup Strategy For Your Devices. I’m giving it to you for $free.99 in the hope that you will go through it, heed the warnings, and take some time to make a backup.

I even have a service where I can help you set up your backup strategy so you will know your data is safe should the worst occur…and it will occur. If it hasn’t happed yet, “keep on living”

Whatever way/means/manner you choose, do me a favor and choose something. You’ve worked hard and accumulated a extraordinary amount of memories, files, and documents you need to preserve. I’m positive you would hate to have to start over, right.
