I often get inquires about the “new hotness” when it comes to gadgets and technology on Twitter, Facebook…and Google+ (I think). So I thought I would take some time to “put you on game” in regards to some rumors that are floating around the intwebz.

iPad Mini

Stevie J (Not That Stevie J) but Steve Jobs hated strongly disliked the idea of a 7″ tablet. But the rumor mill keeps scratching at this story, and their may be some truth to the rumors of Apple (post Steve Jobs, RIP) developing a 7″ inch iPad according to MacRumors that posted a story stating that production may already be under way and slated for September. BGR takes the rumor a step further and has released some specs including mentioning that the device will be almost as thick as the current iPod touch. No word on price, but BGR suggests that prices of $249-$299 have been floated around.

So for all those people who scoffed at the current size and heft of the new iPad, will you jump on the opportunity to own a super-thin 7″ inch iPad that will fit in your jacket pocket? Me, myself, personally [Lol!] I just hope those folks who love to take pictures with the current iPad will shell out for a smaller device so they don’t look like this guy:

13-inch Retina MacBook Pro

The new 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro is absolutely gorgeous…and absolutely out of my price range. I considered it for a second, I even set a price for my current 13-inch MacBook Pro and sent it (the price, not my laptop) to a colleague. My wallet quickly yanked me back to reality, and I decided to invest in some RAM to speed up my “old and busted” – Maybe even an SSD upgrade is in its future as well.

But if the rumors of a smaller 13-inch MacBook Pro with the same High-Resolution display are true, I may just stack my chips and invest in that if and/or when it drops, assuming it will be cheaper than its $2k+ 15-inch predecessor. “Damn, that’s allot of money”

Amazon Phone

Why not? Amazon (even at a rumored loss per device) was wildly successful with its 7-inch tablet with its Android-ish OS, sub-par software/hardware specs a no cameras. Folks bought into the Amazon ecosystem, and that’s what I’m guessing Amazon is betting on if the rumors are true of an Amazon Phone.

The innanets have been speculating that there is more to the rumor due to Microsoft higher-ups (who worked on Windows Phone) now collecting a check over at Amazon. To add fuel to the fire, Bloomberg reported that Amazon is working with Foxconn (the same manufacturing plant that makes popular Apple devices…and loves its employees [/sarcasm]) to develop its not-so-secret device. The question is, can lightning strike twice for Amazon in a tight smartphone category that has already squeezed out the likes of Palm…and BlackBerry is on its last leg.

So there you have it, those are just some of the tech rumors that may just see the light of day. My personal fave is the all-but-has-to-happen 4-inch iPhone 5 that will drop later this year. What are some tech rumors you have heard that peaked your interests?
